1998 to Present: Junior Engineer and CAD Technician at J.A. Barker Engineering, Inc., Bloomington, Indiana

Duties include production of plan drawings and detailed engineering calculations.

1996: Draftperson, Indiana University Bureau of Facility Programming and Utilization, Bloomington, Indiana

Ms. Zhou created and updated computerized floorplans for Assembly Hall and other campus buildings by using original as-built and current hand-drawn master floor plans. She also conducted on-site verification of the building plans.

1989 - 1993: Director and Chief Structural Engineer, Guangzhou Light Industry Design Office, Guangdong, China

Ms. Zhou supervised the operation as chief administrative officer of the Design Office, which employed ten people and designed manufacturing facilities. She checked final design plans and signed all documents. During this time, Ms. Zhou also taught courses in Reinforced Concrete Design with Guangzhou College of Urban Development.

1984 - 1988: Associate Professor, Vice-Chair of Civil Engineering Department, and Director of Architectural Design, Shandong Institute of Mining and Technology

Ms. Zhou administrated the academic program for B.S.C.E. and taught courses in reinforced concrete design. She was also project engineer on several commercial buildings, including a 16-story hotel.

1965 - 1984: Certified Engineer and Technical Director, Factory Development and Construction, Jinan General Autos, Shandong, China

As a project engineer, Ms. Zhou designed 5 major manufacturing buildings, and several special structures, totaling about 400,000 square feet. She also designed a theater, an office building, and food service and residential buildings. She was responsible for preliminary design, structural calculations, detail design, plan checking cost estimate and construction inspection for the projects.
